Pegasus Reef Hotel’s highly commended culinary team showcased their talent and gastronomic flair at Sri Lanka’s most prestigious International Culinary Art competition held recently at the BMICH. In a competition that saw the participation of over 3000 chefs, the Pegasus Reef Team victoriously walked away with 4 Golds, 2 Silvers and 17 Bronze Medals.
“We are extremely proud of our team for the tremendous efforts showcased. The Gold medals were won by Thiwanka Madhushan and Yohan Lakmal in the Creative Cheese Platter contest, Rumesh Ruwan in the Old Reserve Arrack Cocktail competition and Ruwanthi Malsha for her interpretation of the IDL Old Reserve Flambé Dessert. Silver medals were won by Ishara Kumarasinghe in Dress the Cake and Shenal Maneesha in the Scan Sunquick Mocktail Competition. Multiple Bronze medals were won by Thiwanka Madhushan, Kosala Mahesh, Ishara Kumarasinghe and Shenal Maneesha, while Hasitha Ulapane, Kavindu Sankapala, Nalaka Prasad, Sujith Gamage, Yohan Lakmal, Christina Mei Kao, Ruwanthi Malsha, Vishwa Wijesinghe and Asanka Udaya Kumara all won individual Bronze medals in their areas of expertise.
The Culinary Art Competition is held as part of the Culinary Art Food Expo 2019, organized by the Chefs Guild of Lanka together with the World Association of Chefs Societies.
