Pegasus Reef Hotel welcomed the Christmas season with hotel patrons, guests and tourists with the traditional mixing of the Christmas Cake at the hotel premises recently.
Pegasus Reef Hotel’s highly commended culinary team showcased their talent and gastronomic flair at Sri Lanka’s most prestigious International Culinary Art competition held recently at the BMICH. In a competition that saw the participation of over 3000 chefs, the Pegasus Reef Team victoriously walked away with 4 Golds, 2 Silvers and 17 Bronze Medals.
Pegasus Reef Hotel served some mouthwatering German delicacies mixed and matched with a number of local delights at the hotel’s Oktoberfest celebration held on the 27th October to a full gathering of hotel patrons, tourists and hotel guests.
The first ever Kite Festival hosted by the Pegasus Reef Hotel drew large crowds on the 26th of August, making the newly launched seasonal family event a huge success. The Kite Festival aligned with the school holidays to ensure that hotel patrons and guests alike would be able to participate in the carnival-like atmosphere with the entire family.
Pegasus Reef Hotel served the most tempting pork cuts in town, at the ‘Porkalicious’event hosted by the hotel. The dining celebration was held on the 23rd of June, from 07.30 p.m. onwards at the hotel beach marquee, set alongside the scenic backdrop of the Indian Ocean and the bright Colombo harbor lights lighting up the night.
Saturday, 27th January 2018: The management and staff of Pegasus Reef Hotel Wattala together with special invitees and hotel patrons ceremoniously opened their new, superior quality tennis court at the hotel premises today. The opening ceremony was attended by the Guest of Honor at the event, Mr. Iqbal Bin, the President of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA), Pegasus Reef Hotel Club Members, the media as well as Principals and Heads of Sports representing schools of the vicinity.
The Pegasus Reef Hotel, Wattala, was honored by 01 Gold Excellent, 02 Gold, 03 Silver and 13 Bronze medals at the 17th edition of the “Culinary Art and Food Expo”, the Platform of showcasing the skills of chefs commenced at the BMICH, inaugurated by the President Maithripala Sirisena on Friday, 28th July 2017.
This exhibition was organized by the Chefs’ Guild of Sri Lanka and supported by professional exhibition organization, CDC event and travel Pvt.Ltd and thousands of Sri Lankan Chefs took part in it.

Wednesday, May 4th 2016, Colombo : Pegasus Reef Beach Hotel organized a special workshop by joining hands with the Wattala Police station to create awareness among school children on road accidents and the prevention of accidents. Being mindful of the increasing number of motor vehicle accidents, Pegasus Reef Beach Hotel commenced this initiative as a step to reduce the number of road accidents which are increasing day by day and taking young lives.
The police officers had the chance to speak to 1000 school children in the Wattala area and emphasised the importance of being alert to prevent accidents. The police highlighted the role played by pedestrians in the prevention of accidents and the importance of them obeying road rules. The school children were then involved in practical demonstrations on how to safeguard themselves and be responsible on the road. The workshop was finally concluded by emphasizing how motorists and pedestrians should frequently update themselves on road traffic safety rules.
Although Sri Lanka is rimmed by beautiful sandy beach, it has been minimally understood
the importance and essential of a clean beach and dirt – free costal line. Neither the sea nor
the beach is our garbage dump. Since those beaches are playing a vast role in Sri Lankan
tourism industry which is one of the most revenue trades, our costal line has to be clean and
beautiful, letting everyone’s eyes to grab its splendour.
Therefore in order to make people more conscious and responsible towards environment,
Department of Coastal Conservation organized ‘a beach cleaning programme’ concurrence to
the international oceans day. This event was taken place on 09th June 2016 at Wattala
Prithipura beach line with the participation of other government institutions and Pegasus Reef
Hotel.
The Pegasus Reef Hotel lend hand on this operand this time, stepped up as a key contributor
of this national importance task with the staff of the hotel, government officials as well as
several voluntary organizations understanding the value of clean beach and with the purpose
of making citizen more aware on environment protection.
Pegasus Reef Beach Hotel in Hendala, Wattala has been certified with two ISO certificates along with a OSHA certifcate for its efforts and achievements in the hotel industry. This achievement is a huge milestone for the Pegasus Reef Beach Hotel as an individual establishment as only a limited number of hotels or hotel chains in Sri Lanka have been able to attain this standard.
The ISO 22000:2005 certificate which is awarded for Food Safety Management System was received by the Pegasus Reef Hotel as the hotel makes every effort to ensure that the food being served to its guests is free of all potential biological, chemical and physical hazards by producing & serving in an environment where ISO 22000: 2005 principles have been established while complying to all applicable legal requirements.
The Pegasus Reef Beach Hotel also received ISO 14001:2004 - Environment ManagementSystem & OHSHA – 18001-2007 in recognition for its contribution to maintaining an effective environmental and health and safety management system.
